Lena Davidsson

Lena Davidsson is one of the girls who I have been with from the beginning of first-year.

After two years in Gdansk, she managed to transfer to Sweden. You will be missed, Lena!

Name = Lena Davidsson.

Age = 25.

Country of Origin = Sweden.

Languages = Swedish and English.

Favourite Restaurant in Gdansk = Mandu.

Zodiac sign = Scorpio.

1 – What motivated you to study medicine?

The amazement of the human body and reverence for the importance of mental and physical health on our quality of life.

2 – Why did you choose Gdansk?

Primarily because Gdansk is super close to home in Malmö and has a very good reputation back in Sweden.

3 – What do you like the most about the city? Is there anything you would like to see improved?

It’s wonderful how much there is to do in Gdansk, there is always something new to explore!

If I have to give a “thorn” it’s that the customer service could be improved in some places.

4 – Have you studied anything else before you started medicine?

Yes, biochemistry with a biomedicine minor.

5 – What are the things you wish you knew before medical school?

“Enjoy the process”. Slow and steady does it and keep calm, the grass is green, the sky is blue, your efforts will do.

6 – What was your favourite subject so far? What about your least favourite? Why?

Anatomy and physiology rocked!

The worst was biochem.

7 – What is the hardest thing about being a medical student?

Keeping your priorities straight in life and staying well rounded.

8 – What is the number one tip you would give to a freshman?

A) Keep your interests alive, work out and eat well.

B) Treat school like a job, sit your butt down and study. A+ students aren’t “smarter”, they just spent more hours focused.

9 – What do you usually do during your study breaks in order to relax?

My favourite breaks are running, singing and painting.

10 – Have you thought of any specialities that might interest you?

Paediatrics, neuro or emergency medicine.

11 – Complete the sentence. I would not have survived the first two years of medical school without… my amazing friends! Frixion pens, hardcover notebooks and my running shoes.

12 – Which disease would you choose to eradicate today?

Alzheimer’s.

13 – Which superpower would you like to have?

To heal the mind. To grant people clarity and peace.

14 – Which holiday destination is at the top of your list?

Any adventure with forests and tall trees.

15 – Do you have any dream you would like to share with the rest of us?

I am super excited to meet this great group of humans again as skilled doctors. They already have a healing effect.

Survive your 1st-year of medicine

Happy New Year!
